This is a a quick summary of the idea's I have come up with for my digi-pack, I include pictures of the influences of what I intend to do and some examples explaining why I intend to do certain things such as the pictures I'll use or the colours I want to put it or the text I want to type with. Enjoy.

Digipack Do's and Don't
I was only able to do a 30 second video which is why the video is a bit blunt, but I feel using go animate will broaden my horizon in terms of technology and using a variety of them.
Colours and Text In a Digipack

RESEARCH: Ancillary Products
In class we had to analyse three digipaks and advertisements. This gave us an idea of what things our digipaks should and shouldn't have. Below is the first one which I analysed. I will mention a few strengths and weaknesses of the digipak and advertisement.
Strengths:
- There is a consistent use of colours and fonts throughout this digipak.
- The colours compliment each other.
- It is an appealing as there are a variety of shots; looking straight at the camera and away.
- The way the CD goes with outside of the CD works well.
Weaknesses:
- Position of barcode and record logo wasn't too great.
Strengths:
- Tells audiences where the album is available (HMV).
- Good use of photographs used - same as the CD photo.
- Release date shown.
- Ratings used.

FIRST ATTEMPT ON ALBUM COVER
First Attempt of Album Cover.
![]() |
I think this is finished so here it is. |
First attempt at this and I literarily forgot how to use Photoshop however as they say all you have to do is "play around with it" to remember how to use it. I only get confused when it comes to the layers yet it got easy after I started liking what my album cover came out as.
The use of a Brush tool was used to make the ribbon effect on the back cover. So was the Snowflake background created by Brush tool in a large brush size. ONLY two texts were used in the making of the Album. Barcode and Logo's were provided for us on the resources > Barcodes and Logos.
Only thing I don't like is the colour of the little sticker I created by shape tool
PRODUCTION: Ideas for evaluation question 3
How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
For this evaluation question I am considering making a powerpoint presentation. The reason for this is because there is a lot of technologies that were used and therefore there is so much to cover.

- BLOGGER itself!!
- Video camera + SLR camera to film music video + memory cards to store memory on.
- Flip camera's to make vlogs while filming and about the filming process.
- Smartphones were also used to blog.
- To display work on blogger many different apps and websites were used.
- Camtasia was used to take small clips from larger videos.
- Handbrake was used to covert videos which went on the blog.
- Clipgrab was used to download the song which was used in the actual music video.
- Youtube - For research on pop music videos and to embed videos.
- Slideshare was used to allow powerpoints to be clear and good quality.
- Final cut pro - For editing; all editing was done on this app.
- Prezi - To produce presentations (creative but simple)
- Official websites - For research on artists and record labels.
- Retail websites - For potential costume ideas.
- We tries to keep people updated on what was going on via twitter + instagram.
ANCILLARY
- Photoshop - To create the advert and the digipak.
- Camera - To take the pictures which was used.
PRODUCTION: Ideas for evaluation question 1.
In what ways does your media products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
I have read and understood this question; I have a few ideas of how I will represent my answer to this questions and what the answer would be. I Intent to use a video to present my answer as I feel that this will be easy to present. Below are a few points which I may include.

- Influenced by 'Jai Ho' by Pussycat Dolls (Tree's).
- Influenced by 'Its a Happening' by Smiler (Split-Screens).
- Colours were influenced by 'Disco Love' by The Saturdays.
- We FOLLOW Andrew Goodwin's theory about breaking the 4th wall and repeating shots to create a memorable image.
- We go AGAINST Mulvey's theory as the artist used in our music video does not attract the male gaze.
- We FOLLOW Vernallis' theory as we used base tracks; jump cuts and the camera moves in time with the music.

AFTER THE M.V
Emadul Rahman's Slidely by Slidely Slideshow
THIS WAS DO OR DIE, THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL.
THE EXPERIENCE.
The most fun part of the stages of making a music video has to be the fact we went out and explored the world and done great filming and learnt to have fun along side filming. Doing a music video has easily made us all have a sense of time management and how much work we can do in a short time. I believe that from the beginning till the end we have developed and improved so that we are ready for tasks and challenges ahead. At first we felt clueless and now we have pulled together to make a great music video.

UPDATE 02/12/13
Today 02/12/13, BEGINNING OF SOMETHING NEW.
We sat in class and are now starting the exciting ancillary stage when we design things to go with our music video. This is a fun part for me because i love designing things and think this could be a strong point for me.
I sadly have to admit I missed 2 lessons due to the fact I was ill and this caused me to miss some crucial editing stages to develop my editing skills. However to make up for that I have decided I shall put my all in when we start the production process of the Digi-packs.
So far I have 63 posts and about 29 of these posts are individual posts and 34 group posts. I still think this is an area of which I have to improve on.

Skill Development.
This slideshare highlights the different things i have explored and what i have learnt while doing all the planning, filming and editing along side my group.
EXPLANATION
In my own opinion the main things I have improved from last year is the fact that I have a attention to detail when it comes to filming and that I love filming more than editing. Yet editing is amazing when putting the clips together and we did that at first and we might have thought this will be long and boring yet we pushed and pushed and we finally got our editing skills up to scratch and got what we wanted our music video to look at.
Few Final changes before we ticked the deadline sheet was that we didn't keep the idea of having a split screen due to the fact that the split screens taken didn't really go with our music video so we left it out and tried a new thing and that surprisingly worked perfectly. So a few bumps in the road and we still kept on going and pushing till the end.
PRODUCTION - Progress of review
In my opinion my blogging is going quite well; I think I have enough detail on some blogs where it is needed and I feel that I am using short blogs when they are also needed. After each day of filming and editing I have blogged about those details which are necessary; I have included pictures and screen shots of the production which hopefully helped the examiner understand a bit more clearly what I have been doing.
As well as blogging about this whole production stage I have started to plan ahead with the advertisement of the album and have researched about example synergy products which incorporates with pop artists such as the No7 advert which I have blogged about. I am still thinking about the digipack and looking at what shots I could use and so on which will attract more audiences.
Personally I am happy with my blogging as I feel that I am not doing too little or too much. 39 out of the 79 blogs are my individual blogs whereas the other 40 are group blogs.

Rough Cut Feedback (change)
THE MAIN CHANGES
- the main thing we looked at was mainly the beginning of the music video. Exploring different ways to apply text to the beginning to show the target audience of the songs name and the name of our artist: Yasmin Feruz. We had to first change and play with the colour of the first part of the flowers and then we looked at the next clip of Yasmin (Abida) walking in an almost fantasy looking setting. By emphasising the green it made the shot stand out just like most of our shots that had to be enhanced in the editing process. The long shot was filmed to create a sense of mystery at first for the beginning yet introduce Yasmin in a narrative way because she is walking away from the camera yet it looks like she's on a journey to find her "wings" and fly. A strong message trying to be portrayed in the making of this music video.
The re-edit.
- Adding text.
- Consider font
- Colour
- The clips we use

Just Ticking Off.
So we have finished the music video after weeks of editing, filming, planning and whatever else goes into the making of a music video. Bring on the ancillary pack and evaluation questions. We decided to follow media traditions and make this small video on Amirul and Abida, ticking off the music completion chart which was obviously fun to do , cant you tell by our excited faces! ^_^
